"I'm Immorta, Galactic Federation Police. Special Weapons, Tactics & Investigation Team. Sector S451219."
―Immorta introducing herself to Wonder-Red, Operation 004-B

Immorta is a major character encountered over the course of The Wonderful 101's story.

An officer of the Galactic Federation Police, Immorta presents herself as a mysterious third party to humanity's conflict with the GEATHJERK Federation Supreme Armada, helping the Wonderful Ones from time to time as she not only follows the GEATHJERK's trail of destruction, but also that of her corrupted brother, Prince Vorkken.

Immorta first appears in Operation 003-C to assist the Wonderful Ones, but never formally introduces herself until Operation 004-B. After some complications, Immorta manages to temporarily join forces with the Wonderful Ones, becoming a playable character and lending her unique Unite Bowgun IconUnite Bowgun ability to the team.
Immorta is also permanently unlockable as a Secret Character.

Wonderful File[]

A member of the Galactic Federation Police, Special Weapons, Tactics & Investigation Team, Sector S451219, Immorta has been following the GEATHJERK through outer space as the last remaining survivor of the Galactic Federation Police, following their destruction by the alien race.

A straightforward talker and an energetic tomboy, she trusts her youth will get her through any danger. Having just finished her training, Immorta still lacks practical experience, but seeing the conviction she displays in her deep-seated sense of justice and her daredevil fighting style is enough to make even the manliest of her male comrades feel inferior. Nevertheless, her innocent expressions betray an inner femininity, and sometimes she can even show hints of weakness.

Her weapon, the Sakuran Bowgun, is loaded with Bio-ECM shells that disrupt neural and electric targets. With it, she travels the galaxy, bringing evil to justice.

Born on the comet Rhullo, Immorta was a member of the royal family and Vorkken's younger sister, but she lost her homeland in the GEATHJERK invasion of her kingdom. Soon after, she joined the Galactic Federation Police in the Special Weapons, Tactics & Investigation Team, continuing to follow her brother in the hopes of stopping his destruction. Her brother was once strong and kind, but has since lowered himself to supporting the invaders who destroyed their home planet.

Description[]

Appearance[]

As a young Rhulloian, Immorta closely resembles a human woman in appearance, the major differences being a pink skin color, pointed ears, black scleras, and a third eye situated on the forehead. Immorta has blue eyes and short, golden blond hair.

Immorta wears a Vodan Suit: presumably a uniform of the Galactic Federation Police. Her Vodan Suit consists of a mostly black, skin-tight suit covering every part of the body except for the head and arms, a helmet, and long gloves that cover the forearms. The suit is covered in various hot-pink and red accent lines, and features a prominent heart-motif throughout its design, including pink heart-shapes on the front of her boots, and a large heart covering the front of the chest. At the center of the chest is a smaller glowing heart, which attaches to small gray shoulder pads. Immorta also has ammo cartridges strapped to her left thigh.
The suit's helmet resembles a peaked cap worn by police, except it is oversized and robotic. The top of the helmet is nearly black with various pink accent lines, and at its front is a large lens. The helmet includes a large computerized visor with a glowing red stripe that normally fits over the wearer's eyes.
The helmet can be worn in multiple configurations: its visor can be raised up, exposing the wearer's eyes (or in Immorta's case, two of them), or it can be lowered to cover them. The top part of the helmet can also lower entirely over the visor, aiming its lens toward the front, in a configuration known as Shooter Mode, which the game treats as an analogue to a CENTINEL-Suit's Unlimited Form.
Similar to a Wonderful One, when Immorta is knocked out her suit vanishes and she's reduced to curious heart-motif undergarments.

Immorta's weapon is the Sakuran Bowgun: a pink and black alien crossbow loaded with powerful Bio-ECM (electronic countermeasure) shells that disrupt neural and electric targets.

Personality and Traits[]

At first, Immorta presents herself as a mysterious third party to humanity's conflict with GEATHJERK, briefly assisting the Wonderful Ones whenever she crosses paths with them, only to leave as quickly as she appears each time, never even taking the time to introduce herself until her third encounter with Wonder-Red. Early in the story, Immorta is harshly critical of the Wonderful Ones, openly calling out their at-times dysfunctional behavior, expressing doubt about their ability to defend the Earth from GEATHJERK, and emphasizing the dangers posed by Prince Vorkken. However, it quickly becomes obvious that she was following the team and monitoring their progress, and despite her earlier criticisms, she actually wishes to join forces with them in order to help stop Prince Vorkken.

Immorta's attempts to join the Wonderful Ones were initially met with extreme resistance in the form of Wonder-Blue, both because of Immorta's earlier criticisms toward him as well as his complete distrust of aliens as a result of his past. However, Blue eventually welcomed her to the team after learning to accept Red's leadership and trust others.

Immorta is youthfully energetic and tomboyish, with a daredevil fighting style. As an officer of the Galactic Federation Police, Immorta possesses a strong sense of justice and conducts herself with great authority around others. After joining the Wonderful Ones, Immorta appears to loosen up somewhat, revealing more of her personality and motivations to the team, including some of her past and her connections to Prince Vorkken, although she at first withholds the fact that he is her brother:
Born on the comet Rhullo, Immorta, like the rest of Rhullo's population, deeply admired Prince Vorkken as the leader of their people. Immorta's involvement in defending Rhullo from the GEATHJERK invasion is uncertain, however she recalls that Vorkken personally protected her in the final moments of the war to ensure she could safely reach an escape ship, from which she witnessed Rhullo's complete destruction. Obviously harboring resentment toward GEATHJERK for destroying her home, Immorta later joined the Galactic Federation Police to pursue GEATHJERK, only for the federation to be wiped out by GEATHJERK also, leaving Immorta as the only known survivor.

In pursuing GEATHJERK, Immorta eventually reunited with Prince Vorkken, only to find that he had inexplicably been reduced to a Space Pirate allied with GEATHJERK. Betrayed and confused by this discovery, Immorta appeared to refocus her efforts on stopping Vorkken, and apparently encountered him many times before the events of the game.
Despite Vorkken's actions, Immorta still clearly loved her brother and was deeply hurt by his betrayal, and seemed to believe that Vorkken could still be redeemed. After finally managing to defeat Vorkken with the help of the Wonderful Ones, Immorta was no longer able to contain her emotions, and begged him for an answer as to why he turned to crime. Believing he could have only been brainwashed by GEATHJERK, Immorta had not even realized that Vorkken's transformation was the result of a misguided plan to get his own revenge on GEATHJERK.

Although Immorta became focused on stopping Vorkken, she never lost sight of the threat GEATHJERK posed: after finally putting an end to Vorkken's Space Pirates, she gladly confirmed her continued support to the Wonderful Ones in their final confrontation against GEATHJERK. Following GEATHJERK's defeat, Immorta was finally able to properly reunite with her brother, and joined him on his journey to make amends across the galaxy.

Immorta possesses some marked similarities to Wonder-Red, including a shared passion for justice, by-the-books yet over-the-top styles, and being inexperienced but capable rookies in their respective roles.
Having repeatedly helped each other over the course of the game, Immorta felt it was necessary to express her sincerest gratitude to Red in a sentimental exchange that ended up flustering the both of them, implying that the two developed an affection for each other. Red's team would go on to escalate the implications of this exchange, to Red and Immorta's shared embarrassment, only for Prince Vorkken to suddenly express his approval of the matter to Red as his last words before leaving.

Immorta also appears to possess some advanced knowledge of technology, as she upgraded her ship, the Dakkar, with various modifications, as well as repairing and customizing the Gah-Goojin captured by the Wonderful Ones during Operation 005-C to use as a replacement ship following the Dakkar's apparent destruction.

Gameplay[]

Unite Bowgun Icon

As part of the game's story, Immorta joins the team as a temporary member during Operations 006-B, 006-C, 008-A, 008-B, 008-C, 009-A, 009-B, and 009-C.

As the only Bowgun user in the game, Immorta enables the use of Unite Bowgun: a unique ranged weapon weapon that fires heart-shaped arrows with the ability to charm enemies after death, causing them to seek out other enemies and self-destruct on contact, dealing massive damage.

Note that Immorta is a temporary member only available during the aforementioned levels. To use Immorta (and Unite Bowgun) on every level, she must be unlocked as a Secret Wonderful One by obtaining the necessary Bottle-caps.

Trivia[]

  • Immorta's name is derived from "妹 (imōto)", the Japanese word for younger sister.[1]
    • In both the English and Japanese versions of the game, Immorta's name (イモータ) is spelled almost identically to the word immortal ("イモータル (imōtaru.)")
    • The name of Immorta's weapon, the Sakura Bowgun, is derived from "錯乱 (sakuran)", the Japanese word for confusion.[1]
  • The reveal that Immorta is the last surviving member of the Galactic Federation Police is actually spoiled by her Wonderful File, which is obtained in Operation 005-A, long before she reveals this information herself in Operation 005-B.
  • Immorta's Galactic Federation Police Sector number, S451219, is actually a reference to the birthday of The Wonderful 101's director, Hideki Kamiya, on 12/19/1970. The 45 is derived from 1970 as that was the 45th year of the Shōwa era.[2]
  • Although the game provides little information about Immorta's full identity or her origins on the comet Rhullo, given her relation to Prince Vorkken, it could be assumed that Immorta's full name is Immorta Ohgee, and that she was the Rhulloian equivalent of a princess.
  • No information is ever provided about the capabilities of Immorta's Vodan Suit, in fact it is only ever even named in the in-game Gallery. Given Immorta's ability to fight alongside the Wonderful Ones, it's presumably a powered exoskeleton of similar technology to a CENTINEL-Suit, although that doesn't explain Immorta's ability to form Unite Bowgun.
  • Although Immorta's suit is meant to become damaged in the story after the battle with Vorkken in Operation 006-C, it appears undamaged in the level's ensuing cutscenes. Her damaged suit model actually isn't used until Operation 007-A's opening cutscene.
  • As a temporary member, Immorta is with the team for longer than any other character by far for a total of 8 entire levels.
    • Despite this, Unite Bowgun is the only weapon Unite Morph to never be used in a QTE, and Immorta is the only playable main character in the story to never call a QTE.
